In Canada, public health insurance is available to eligible residents. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are required to apply for provincial health insurance. Provincial medical plans cover basic medical services such as doctor visits, hospital stays, and some services like x-rays. You must be enrolled under a provincial plan or equivalent to participate in the extended health and dental plans. If you are new to Canada and require interim coverage during the wait period for your provincial plan please contact your plan administer to review options – Johnstone’s Benefits has made a temporary provincial plan available.
